Posers' Coffee House, All Bullshit Accepted, Part VI
Ripping out the old system really isn't an option at this point.
Besides, the house is only 7 years old, has dual zone, (upstairs & downstairs), and the utility bills are downright reasonable.
Been doing some digging, and I found that I can get a case of 12 online, free shipping, for $5 each for the high capacity pleated jobbies.

When have you ever, and I mean ever, seen a TOUR pro putt from just off the green?
He's scared. There's no other explanation. He is terrified because he has no idea where the bottom of this "new" swing arc is, and he's too scared to hit a wedge from a clean lie. If he doesn't fix his head, he's doomed.
I carry a 52. Handy when you need it! But, I really don't use it a lot, and I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep it in the bag, or put the 4 iron back in.
Decisions, decisions.
I'm not sure if you read this, but on the first hole of Friday's round, when Tiger shot 44 on the front, he did a bump & run from just off the green with a 4 iron. On another hole he putted from just off the green.

I've settled on a 3-wood and an 18 and 24 degree hybrid, plus 5 iron-pw, and three wedges, 52, 56, 60.
If you haven't tried a hybrid, you don't know what you're missing.

yes I do,lol....I make much better contact with my irons these days...and my 3 wood is a cobra....doubles as a hybrid if I ask it to.....lol.
I don't have a 3 anymore. My Burners start with a 4. I did get a 3 and 4
Adams hybrid and I have hit some of my best shots with them. I spend much more time practicing with my hard to hit clubs to improve my second shots at the green. The loft of my 4 is close to the old standard 3 iron loft anyway. It makes making good contact with the other clubs seem easier.

Because of my sciatica I have no choice but to swing easy with the short Irons when warming up quite a bit. I need to stay as loose as possible and sometimes take an ibuprofen or two before a round per my Doc. I read quite a few golf books and one of them, I believe Palmer, said to practice a lot with the hardest club in your bag and make it your best club. I thought about the 3 immediately and thought he was nuts but I've been giving it a fair shot and it does seem to make it easier to hit the hybrids and the 5 on down. I agree with your opinion on the hybrids. Watson says in his video tapes he used them something like 21 times in one round of the British open!
