Posers' Coffee House, All Bullshit Accepted, Part VI
Made the rounds today, after leaving The King. Joe and I were up to Z & M to see what they had new out on the floor...Man, for a cold last day of January, the place was packed with people. Also loaded up with Road Glides....Wassupwitdat??...Musta had at least half a dozen new ones sitting there, and I counted 7 used ones. Seein more and more of them fugly things every year. That stoopid fairing sticks out there so far, you can't see the road prawly 10-12 feet in front of ya.
Prawly had at least that many Street Glides in there too. Didn't see anything there I couldn't live without though.
Went from there on up the road to the Indian shop. Gotta say, that's a good lookin bike. They had a nice looking Blue and Cream Chieftain and a beautiful Willow Green and Cream Vintage.
Good way to kill a boring cold winter day.

Stopped by my dealership today as well. Same thing. Road Glides, Street Glides, Ultras, Softails, Sportsters, Dynas...
...ONE freakin' Road King.
...ONE freakin' Road King.
Know what Clay....You never see many Road Kings sitting around the dealership......Also, I heard that this may be the last year for the Road King. Did you hear anything like that?
He has never hinted about it going away. Of course, he doesn't know anything until the public does. The MoCo can't share any important news in advance of public disclosure because they're a publicly traded company.
I'll see if I can pry anything out of him next week.
I'm still looking for a nice low rider......rk's are a little too much bike for my storage area.
Personally, I can't see it going away either. I know, with Harley's present line-up, If I was buying a new bike today it would be a Road King. There is not one thing I like about the new fairing, the big screen TV or any of the other crap they've done to the glides.

One of the service techs, who is a licensed AMA racer and professional SuperMoto racer, had absolutely the perfect description of the Road King:
"Everything you need, nothing you don't".
I'm with you, I have zero interest in all the electronics and screens that you can't see in the sun.
