Posers' Coffee House, All Bullshit Accepted, Part VI

It's time. You don't want it going dead a few states away. I think it's just dumb that they eliminated kick starters on motorcycles; an 883 would be easy to kick, and I'd bet I could even kick my S&S with it's compression. The old Harleys weren't hard to kick, they'd just kick back and worst case break your leg if you didn't retard the timing right. But that hasn't been an issue for a long time, think that manual timing deal went away with the shovels.
What kind of $$$ should I expect to dish out?
I've looked at all the damned googled prices and they're all over the place.

Company always expected everyone to have a complete set of normal mechanics hand tools up to and including 3/4" drive. This also included any necessary pneumatic and electrical tools. The tool room was equipped with anything 1"drive or larger as well as any extremely large or "specialty" tools.
There were also certain "expendables" that they provided....these included drill bits, files, wire wheels & brushes and other shop supplies.....This was in a shop situation.
Of course, as a field mechanic, if you wanted to be able to do your job as quickly and efficiently as possible, you had to have a lot more than that on your truck......come a longs, chainfalls, lifting straps of all sizes, porta powers....and a multutude of other stuff.
I remember once when we were slow, and I was working in the shop, One of the big bosses made an announcement that "as of now, the company will no longer provide drill bits to the mechanics".
I happened to have the job that day of putting cab lights and back up alarms on a brand new D9 Tractor. Later in the day I happened to look up and saw this guy walking thru the shop...So. I hurried up down off the machine and grabbed a cutting torch.
Since he saw my service truck there.....when it should have been out making money....he headed over in my direction (I knew he would).......and when he got there, I was standing with a cutting torch in my hand and a hood on....Hs said What are you doung nere Doc.....I says ...Well John, we're a little short of river work right now so I'm in the shop playing with this new machine.....He says...."What are you going to do with that torch?"......I sez...Why I'm gonna put lights on it.....and since you decided that we didn't need drill bits anymore.....I'm gonna burn holes in the cab so I can wire it, then I'm gonna take that welder there and weld the lights on, since I won't be able to bolt them up.
Needless to say......That was the end of the "WE're not buying drill bits" caper.
