ours is the fmcsa......they do a lot of **** in the name of safety, but in reality makes it unsafe for everyone....like limiting the trucks speed to a certain point.....this alone will set back driver stress to a new level.

 

No sick time here, 3 weeks vacation plus a day off for my my B-day, which I didn't take Tuesday, and a few holidays off. I can't complain even when I do. If we need a day off we get it no hassle unless it leaves the crew short staffed.

 

yep, Our term mgr is like that,,,,ya need time off ,just ask.....he'll do what he can.....I told him last week that next week I need to be home in 10 hours,so no 600+ trips can be taken.....he said we'll hook up the string an 2 cans for communication....if we can't get you, I guess you can't come in.

 

OSHA told us it is safer to have a fold out ladder folded out then leaning against a shelf. We have like a 14 footer in the warehouse and when you fold it out on its 4 wobbly legs I would rather be standing on the forks of the fork truck. Which is also illegal. The people that make these rules, I have a feeling, really have no real world experience.

 

yep, the people coming up with these rules.....were following behind a truck....not driving the damn thing......they want ALL trucks to have an on board E-log....( that would put a lot of smaller company's under), set all trucks at set speed....meaning the driver has zero control at on ramps......meaning it's brake more or hang on......sometimes braking is your worst enemy....

 

It's like putting someone in charge on a battle field that has never even been deer hunting even less led a campaign.

 

Last j*b I had w*rking for somebody....no sick time, no vacation, no salary, no benefits, no expenses, no company car.....nothing. I worked straight commission. If I didn't sell...my family didn't eat! Did that for 17 years and made damn good money doin' it and never killed myself. Started my own business when I was 43 and w*rked my azz off!
