When the wife left, ditched the landline and satellite, just have cable internet, cell phone, and Netflix. Have local on antenna, but just for a couple morning shows on weekends for the gf, plus she wants to see the weather 6 or 8 times a day if there's a chance of anything. I don't like watching broadcast anything, and get the weather on the phone or internet. I watch Netflix streaming or dvd, totally into watching something when I feel like it, no more scheduled programing, and absolutely no commercials - nothing I want to watch bad enough to put up with that crap. Netflix may not have everything, but it's got more than I have time to watch anyway; also get PBS streaming on the Roku, some interesting stuff on that, too. Only a few tv series I find interesting anyway. Sitcoms are forbidden on my tv.

A heads-up to everyone who uses Intuit for taxes...there's a major shitstorm going on regarding this year's version; apparently they removed a lot of the features from the standard version without telling anyone, and now you have to pay for a premium version to get the "standard" features. Intuit pissed off all its customers about ten years ago with a similar move, and I switched to TaxCut, now H&R Block At Home, and I'm totally happy with that.

Mine is still very much with us, and she adores me. Makes married life sooooo much better.
