After I retired, I just vegged out and enjoyed life for a while. It was great. Then, one day, I was in a business that was very close to what I used to do. Except a lot more fun. Long story short, I ended up talking to the manager, explained I was retired and only looking for something part time, and got hired.
For almost five years it was, I kid you not, the most fun I've ever had working. Ever. Women coming in every day and flirting with me didn't hurt, either. Then, the company started changing from corporate on down, and then they put us on quota. It was so bad that the manager, who was an absolutely professional woman in every respect, would come out of her office sobbing after a phone call from the district manager.
Eff that. Done. Part time bullshit is still bullshit.

When I retired (from an Auto assembly plant) I took 3 years off and even played the "SnowBird" game. I would do renovations for friends (or so called friends) for free just to help them out. Then one Azzhole that we renovated a whole house for would treat people that he just met better than they would treat us! We said F that! On top of some emergency expenses that were not even remotely thought about, I decided to go back to work and got a job doing renovations for an apartment rental company.
Was Mr.Plumber today for my folks. They own and rent out a duplexe and every time a tenant leaves it's a big damn mess.
Busted cabinets, the carpet looks like a moose was butchered on it, plumbing all plugged up and damaged, broken windows and a bunch of junk left behind.
It'll take me and my brother a month to get the place in shape.

Far beyond me! That furnace is older than I am and all of the electronics need to be replaced. Even the repair "technician" says that it needs to be replaced. Now we have to wait for the insurance company to get their heads out of their azzes
hmmmmm......mebby cheaper to go for a new furnace!!
Hopefully the insurance will cover the whole thing? But you know how they try and weasel their way out of payouts!!
