Posers' Coffee House, All Bullshit Accepted, Part VI
My manual choke cable (remember those?) runs right by the battery and is encased in metal. It ground itself once and fried a good section of the casing off. That made a really big spark. I have a rubber casing rigged over it now, but one day I will have to part with some coins and buy a new one

We're about ready to go, got the foam packaging samples back yesterday and their good. The instructions are done. Shouldn't be long now, a lot of little things go into a launch of a new product. Just a couple more weeks of testing and I think we are ready.

That looks like a 2 barrel side draft carb, never seen one. I had a couple of Triumphs (cars) with SU single barrel sidedraft carbs, kind of a pita to balance a pair of those.
Yeah...alternators got fried a lot on those, too....down behind the engine near the exhaust,I think, had to pull the wheel and part of the suspension to change it. Bought her the car used and bought a warranty for it. She had it less than two years and had two alternators and a tranny done..all under warranty...

I'm thinking that after 100,000+ miles on my original SE compensator, it's getting a little weak. I'll be taking a look at it one of these days soon, as I am going to be doing some PM.
I'm expecting to see a lot of wear on the hub spokes and ramps and it seems like the springs are getting weak. Guess we'll see when I open it up.

Those look like su's. Didn't know Z's had those. Or are they Japanese copies? I'd have to say the worst carbs I've ever worked on were Japanese, way too complicated. I threw a couple away on Toyotas and put on simple Italian Webers, way better power, huge increase in gas mileage. And about 80 less parts...
