Indoor pistol range a few miles away occasionally has bowling pin night. 38 and 9 mil often won't knock em over, but 45 will. Owner told me he let a guy use .223 one night, just blew chunks out of em without knocking them over. High velocity is kinda cool sometimes.

First, the van windows were iced over. Then I couldn't get the side doors open. Had to leave something in my shed my daughter wanted, padlock was frozen. Finally got de-iced, loaded, and made it to her place ok. Helped her set up a king size memory foam bed (I WANT one a those!). Thought I'd stick around since it was getting into rush hour when we were all done, but she had to pick up the little guy from Grandma's, so I headed home from south Minnyapolis just after 5. Got a few miles of single lane, no turn lanes going through S. Minny, and you wouldn't be able to keep up with a bicycle. Been a long time since I sat through 6 or 8 cycles at one traffic light. Finally, made it to the 4 lane. That's when it got slow... Don't think I'll be seeing her much on werk days.

50 years already, jeesh. Remember seeing my first Mustang, orange notch back, local kid's family won it in a contest, was driving it around before the dealers were selling them. We all hated that kid... about 12 years old and his parents let him drive it around by himself. Wonder how long that would last today... As soon as they were available, his folks traded it on a fastback, orange again. And let him drive it. We still hated him...

Don't know how many of the first gen I was in or drove (never owned one), thought they were crappy handling if you tried pushing them hard, but they rode real nice, had enough room in them. The Mustang over a Pinto years were... well, just **** in every respect. Third gen, Fox body, 3/4 Fairmounts... probably the roomiest and most comfortable Mustangs, very good handling, exceptional handling with only a little work.

My brother got an 81 Capri (Mercury version), turbo 4 (highest hp model offered in that style body) with the TRX suspension and wheels (metric, only Michelin made the tires to fit, real expensive). Had a double cat exhaust; that went away. Ford turbo life was usually under 25,000 miles; easy fix, but Ford never did. He put an oil filter upside down on the inner fender, above the turbo bearings, ran a stainless braided return line to the turbo so it drained over the hot bearings at shut down, and still had a good turbo over 100,000 miles later. Timing was factory retarded 10 degrees; he advanced it to 10 degrees advanced (20 over factory). Of course, with heavy throttle it sounded like a couple rods let the pistons go, so he made a water injection system, and then it was Corvette hunting time. That little bugger would consistently hit 80 with big block Corvettes trying to catch up. He had to be careful not to race too far, though, because at 90 they'd be blowing by... Acceleration was unreal for a 4 banger, never dynoed it, but must have been putting out over 250 hp above 3000 rpm, and over 1000 lbs lighter than a Vette.

He didn't like traffic, so when we took a trip to Washington DC, I drove in the city, while he kept pleading with me to stop taking 30mph right turns and going through traffic like it was parked (they drove slower than Minnysotans there, I wusn't speeding, really!). Loved that car. Been in the later generation, not impressed, too small and cramped, no matter how fast they go. That new one sure is purty, though.
