Yup! They closed the plant that I worked in just after I retired. A lot of folks with 23 years or so (step son) get the boot with a pat on the back. Just not right!
Where I worked it was the other way around. Salaried worked on the line, the line STOPPED or there were other ways that we used to stop it. Myself, I didn't really care, but that was the way of the union. We had a really strong union way back when. but in the end not so much.
It is extremely rare and hard to find a working environment that actually cares about their employees. You are lucky Mark.
