Sheriff's department lands Roethlisberger K-9 grant
PUTNAM COUNTY — On the football field, Ben Roethlisberger has been a dominant force in the NFL as the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2004. During that time, he has led his team to two Super Bowl victories and holds the NFL record for most wins in the first six years of his career (60).
As this year marks a decade in the NFL for Roethlisberger, it is also the eighth season that the Steelers quarterback has given grants to K-9 units of police and fire departments across the country through the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, a part of the Giving Back Fund. The grants are given to departments in the Pittsburgh area, as well as departments in the surrounding areas of cities the Steelers travel to for away games during that season.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department found out recently that they would be one of two Nashville-area departments receiving the grant this season as the Tennessee Titans prepare to host the Steelers at LP Field in Nashville on Monday night. In addition to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, the Oneida Police Department, which is approximately 84 miles from Cookeville, are also receiving the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation’s grant.

It's an old furnace, tip getting carboned up mebbe? I've gotten up early on a below zero Sunday morning twice with no heat, what're the odds? Motor first time (was I ever lucky to find an open store with one that fit on a Sunday morning), busted wire in the solenoid for the gas valve next time - spliced in a bigger piece of wire, worked fine. I called a couple repair guys on the valve; they'd wanted a few hundred bucks, pilot lights aren't code here anymore, would only fix it with an upgrade to electronic ignition; I got motivated to fix it myself.

Nope. Not me! I am driving to fast and hard for it to keep up. Right here between Tulsa and Oklahoma City it is still only 5*F!
