Read that a police copter flew over a guy's garden, and then the police paid him a visit. Turns out the "weed" seen from the air was okra...

I had both broadleaf and the kind that looks kinda like something else in this pic. At first glance, it does look a bit familiar. I've wondered if I'd ever get asked about it...

Pods, got soft round white seeds in em (black & hard when they dry out). Cut em open, all gooey & slimy inside, and that's as far as most folks can get with em. Some people boil em - what a slimy mess. I cut em inta nickles and fry em inna non stick skillet. Useta use cast iron with olive oil to keep it from sticking, would be soft and oily. A lesbian farmer taught me the non stick no oil method, puts a crisp on em, way better. Best way is breaded & deep fried, but I don't deep fry. Used in Cajun gumbos and caseroles. Most varieties get woody after a couple inches, even less, but I've found some varieties that do just fine out to 6-8 inches long. More bang for the buck, so to speak. Burpee's Northern Okra is by far the best producer I've tried in Frozelandia. That ain't red okra (there is such a thing); it's a tomato.

Grabbed a few peppers from the field before they turned them under.
