GAINESBORO — Funeral services for Derek Jordan Ragland, 25, of Gainesboro will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 5, 2014, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery.

Family will receive friends today from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Ragland passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born Oct. 21, 1988, in Cookeville to Randy Ragland and Angie Sisco.

Mr. Ragland was a factory worker at Eaton. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Not going to be a good day for a lot of folks, hope it doesn't rain, too, just hate that at funerals. Such a young guy, younger than my daughter. I hate going to funerals, but we gotta pay our respects sometimes.

I hate it to Moldy, I probably won't hang out for the whole service but I will pay my respects. I'm gonna ride, too. Now, where did I put my chaps????

Funerals suck! Especially for such a young guy. His parents must be devastated!

Yeah, well I was wrong there. There was a **** load of bikers showed up, most on HD's, I knew several of them. Road to the grave site and usally after they lower the casket into the ground everyone starts to leave, right? Not today, no one left till the last shovel full was put into the grave, cept for crying women. Pretty touching. I must say. RIP Dereck Ragland.

lesson learned , get the max 100/300 k uninsured motorist....for the extra coin it's well worth it.
