I rode this old 305 Honda across the old 2 lane Tamiami Trail from Miami to Naples across the everglades at night. That humped gas tank - was a smooth, kinda tan colored curve from the top of the tank about half way up my chest. Bug goo... Made a big plop sound when I got off and most of it fell on the ground. I was slimed head to toe.

 

Me, on my way to work. Ok, fine, not recently...

 

I thought the scrambler version was way better looking, but it was geared a lot lower, and I knew I'd be doing a lot of rides over 100 miles (lot of them were over 500), wanted to be able to cruise illegally.

At least with the scrambler, you didn't have to change your pipes because you smashed them up off roading. I've had a bad habit of taking bikes not made for it off road, even Harleys. Even a Harley hardtail - never wanted to repeat that experience...

I got that little bike up to 11,000 rpm in high gear once; with stock tires it was geared for 99 mph at 9000 rpm, and I had an oversized semi knobby tire on the back.

 

Damn,Mike, Ya got my vote for poser of the month iffen there was one.........

I'm still undecided toy run or truck show......I have a vested interest in both, an both on the same day!

 

Yeah, it would do maybe 80-85 at redline. I rode that bike from Fresno to Death Valley and back. Never a hiccup.

 

Back to the grind for another week. One down, three ta go!!
