On Dinas bike she has V&H pipes, heat shield on the back was rattling, so I tightened every bolt and hose clamp on it...nothing.
So now I can tell there is something rattling around between the shield and exhaust, now I wanted to pull the slip on off so I loosen everything but the darned thing will not come off, it spins but will not pull off and that little rock or something is still in there.
WTF is holding it on.

I had a clutch cable off the Ural today, ran behind the steering stem and stuck way out from the bike. Put it back together running it in front of the stem, worked a lot better. Was also rubbing the insulation off a couple wires. Feels kinda gritty when I pull it, probably gonna need a new one next year. Never heard of a cable blowing like you described. Have had a clutch cable snap, fun to ride home...
gonna sound crazy, but I have to take two way to work. When the ferrys running, it's all back country road. Ferry don't run in the afternoon, so have to take the long way and make a square. All left turns
