Mornin ucan, if you're still here. Lately most of the chatter has been around this time. Sounded like an artillery barrage a little while ago, decided to get a cup of coffee. Decaf, I wanna get back in the nest before the sun comes up.

Not so good this year. Several tomato plants died this month for no apparent reason (probably less than 100 left), and none of them have many tomatoes on them. Peppers aren't dying, but not bearing a lot, either. Squash and collard greens are the best producers this year.

Rained hard for a few minutes after the thunder barrage, but quit already. In the past, would get a growth spurt in the garden after a rain, just didn't usually get much in the summer. First couple months of the growing season this year the garden got soaked frequently, but didn't grow much at all. Guess the dry spells don't hurt, maybe even encourage growth. I ain't no expert on plant life, just like eating some of em.

Grocery stores are too expensive, 2-3 dollars a pound for tomatoes, over a dollar/pound for most fruits, often a dollar for a red bell pepper (bell peppers are tasteless compared to the long Italian sweets I grow). Wish I had more room, would like to have cauliflower, broccoli, lots more variety. Tomatoes and peppers are what I use most, and the biggest bang for the buck. Maybe not this year, though.

Haven't done anything with the tub since I posted those rust pics, been real humid, and I want to be able to paint it the same day I finish blasting the rust off. Been busy with other stuff, too. I would like to have it running before salt hits the roads.
