I'm going to be an MG mechanic today. Gonna get 'er up in the air a bit, grab some wrenches, and take a nap under it. All while acting like I know what I'm doing.

Back from breakfast. French toast is da bomb but can't have it very often. Somebody remarked about the other posts in the off section. Lot of goofy folks out there for sure. But hey it's cheap entertainment!

Them Brit cars are strange. I've werked on Brit, German, and Italian cars, and them Airbus airliners, and not impressed by any of em from an engineering standpoint. I gotta admit, they werk ok while they're werkin, jus not reliable enough for American use. My dad had a Brit friend and they were talking cars one day, Dad asked what the guy did for a 500 mile trip. He talked about all the car prep he'd do, and what spares to take, then asked Dad what he'd do with his Chevy. Dad said he'd check the oil level and tire pressure and then drive 1000 miles without thinking about it any more.

Starter quit on my Herald (early 70's), and I just yanked the engine/trans out to pull the starter, wus easier than trying to reach it in the car. Quicker, too, could pull the engine in less than half an hour. Wife gotta good laugh out of it, couldn't believe it wus so easy to pull an engine. Would like to have that car today, had more upright seats and way more legroom than the Spitfire it shared a frame with. Hood tilted forward the same, too. Could hit 65 with a tailwind... Got gas mileage the Japanese didn't reach for another 10-15 years - better than what my sidecar rig is supposed to get.
