Default 2014 Street Bob

I have a 2014 fxdb street bob. I have noticed that there is a light chatter while maintaining speed at around 35-50mph. This only while in the area right between accel and decel, just to maintain speed. This occurs in 2nd - 6th gear with rpms around 1800 - 2400 roughly. 200 miles on the bike. Cause for concern?

Not lugging. Its not really loud. It still has the stock pipes on it which are crazy quiet. I dont think I would even be able to hear it if I were to install my short shots. I WAS riding 2010 Honda Fury shaft driven, which was really solid transfer from lag to power (no slack). Im I crazy?

Bandit only wants like 18 oz of fluid in there or you will get a bunch of parasitic drag. More than twice as much friction material and I can only use ATF or Spectro 70wt oil. Im using ATF till it comes off the dyno.

Kiddo starts a charter school this year. We have to put in 60 hours a year in sweat equity. Just did my first 4 hours with the mrs's.

Then it's some primer, and thinking of using appliance paint, stuf's supposed to be harder than regular paint. At some point, the sidecar will need to be stripped and completely repainted, if I keep it. Sure ain't the best built thing, but just a sidecar alone for a Harley, even used, woulda cost more than this rig. Just thinking of it as a toy, anyway.

Getting started

If I got a new 2015 Glide, I'd probably have it on the lift the first week, checking bolts & screws and adjustments, then changing out the chinese bearings in the winter. Not much chance of that happening, though, would rather put more money into the EVO.

Try keeping the rpm above 2000, whatever it takes to keep it smooth. You don't want the engine lugging, especially a new one. Could be other things, too, like the fuel injection; if you take it to a dealer for the 1000 mile checkup, he could check that and diagnose the electronics easily. I'm strictly a carb guy, but there's others on the forum that seem to know that stuff pretty well. Ignore anyone that says change your oil.

Probably get a lot more answers if you post in the new members section and the tech section for your bike; limited amount of folks will be reading this thread.
