My daughter likes old style looks, thinks the retro Triumphs look cool. She even thinks the Ural looks neat and likes the 30's style big bicycle seat - which I think is a misery, gotta do sumptin about that. Likes Harleys too, of course. She liked her dirt bike, till the battery crapped out over a mile into the woods...

Big Harleys are surprising stable off road, that would have been a lot harder on a lot of metrics. I crossed a creek about 30' wide and over 6' deep once with a Honda 305 - at 65mph; the water never reached the carbs, but the back wheel went completely under - my butt got wet... Never tried that again.

Even my little 96" feels awesome. Pulls harder than a stock 103, anyway. I think it'd beat my 1200 sporty.
Time to do something I haven't done in a while....fire up the Datsun Z and go over it for a few hours......
