Got a kitchen stove/oven at the local scratch & dent, had warranty werk on it a couple times, gf hates it 'cause the oven temp goes up and down about 30 degrees while it's baking. Repair folks say that's normal, but the old one - and the gf's old one - held their temps real close. Scratch & dent had the same washer/dryers I got at Home Depot, 'bout $30 or $40 cheaper, but they were older models, and had plenty of scratch & dent...

Was that on the trip or before? Guess she's ok if you're hauling her around. Ain't as comfortable two up, for me anyway.

Some folks actually replace leaking valves with plugs. Bomb waiting to go off... I had a valve let go in a rental long ago, screamed so loud you couldn't hear anything else. Was an under sink unit, saw all that steam coming out, knew what happened, opened all the hot water taps in the house, amazing how long they let off steam, you'd a thought I would only have got one or two open before the pressure was gone, but they all kept going a minute or more.

Mythbusters tv show plugged a water heater, put it in a little shed in a big parking lot, blew the shed pretty good and got over 300' up with the tank, looked like a rocket taking off.

Was on the trip. We were on a road in Kings Canyon, she hit a corner a little hot and flipped it when she hit the dirt wall.
Bike got towed to Vasalia HD...she's ok but my wife had to open her big mouth and suggest she ride with us for the next 2 weeks on my bike.

yup, dem water heaters only have a 10-12 year life span......mine is due, but knock wood....been good so far.......we use quite a bit of hot water soo at least it gets fresh water in it weekly.

The trick to increasing life span in a hot water tank is to drain a gallon of water out the drain valve every month...keeps the scale build up down.

City water here is quite good......toilet is good testament to that, just check the tank.

Water in Calgary is notoriously hard and mineral based...fluoride too.
