Pilot hours... US pilots have way more hours than russkie pilots.... hurts em in combat situations..
Oh yeah the *** .049 powered PT19 was my favourite but I had a Red Baron triplane and hand built a SE5a too! Also an Aircobra but the PT lasted the longest and was less twitchy! If I ever build another it'l be a P-40.

the new model remote stuff is really unbeleiveable, jet engines and all now.... gotta go...
We used to raid the construction sites to make our runways out of ply wood that we'd lay on the ground in the backyard. We could get em up in the air by the end of the second sheet so we learned to add a third for landing. We also flew a lot of "profile" control liners. The fuselage was flat Balsa with built up wings. Used to have to paint the wings with dope and then go to sleep and have funny dreams... sure didn't hurt me none, I'm nod dain bramaged...
I had a perfect idyllic childhood untill my Dad hired a 17 year old Barbara Eden look a like as a baby sitter for my brother and I. Said I had big muskles for my age and proceeded to show me a new meaning of the term "tail surfaces". Ruined my life and I didn't re-discover my love of model airplanes for another 30 years....
