Haven't seen any flooding down here in the Apple Valley/Lakeville area, drains pretty good. Weather report this morning looks like that big Iowa weather system is gonna miss us. I've caught a few light showers, but don't deliberately go out in the rain, though that's really cutting down the riding this year. I've actually been thinking of getting some decent rain gear; when I was younger, enjoyed a little rain on a warm day once in a while. Gets old quick on an all day ride, though.

That's for 3 nights, 2 meals a day. That'd be one night here. Daughter took me and the grandkid out to a place she likes last week, hamburgers started at 11 bucks. I got a shepard's pie, no sides, $13. When I pick the restaurant, nuttin's on the menu for over 10 bucks, including a drink. If I live anudder 10 years, gonna be interesting trying to pay the bills on the same income I have now. If S.S. holds up...

Haha....it's a small (maybe 30 rooms) Mom and Pop Inn. Individually cooked breakfast every morning. Saturday night chicken dinner. I remember taking the kids to Rehoboth beach, Delaware in the 80's. Only one ocean front hotel with a pool...Paid over $200/ night then. Always questioned why, if we were going to the shore, the kids had to have a pool at the hotel. They spent more time in the pool than the ocean. Damn...I hated those vacations!!!

Good morning Baracu, Ken, Doc and Moldy. I've been AWOLlast week repairing my brothers truck's front end and mine too, as the anti lock went out, bad bearing one side and bad wheel hub on the other so replaced both on both side as well as the calipers. Whole front end under Ralphs truck and a TPS. Good lord 1,600 bucks. Now for the good news, My daughter put in a bid on a Sea ray in an estate sale and got a big one that had been well maintained for a rediculously low price. She asked if her and her husband got it would the old Coastie teach em to drive it? Well we took her out yesterday with her at the helm and had a ball. It was a short ride as we started the first of many days of maintenance and cleaning to come and today she invited her "crazy" girlfriends for a boat ride and swim so it will be a long day today. I definitely slept well last night and hope the weather cooperates.

Me too! I hate saltwater, I hate hot, I hate sand! Sooo.....for twenty years we went to the shore for vacation. First day there, I would go to the umbrella guy and rent an umbrella and lounge chair for the week. Every day I would mix up a cooler jug of Tanqueray and tonic, get a book....sit,drink and read....

Last year, wife is bustin' my hump about a vacation somewhere. She knows the "shore" deal......her suggestion " let's go to an island"...... We compromised on Nashville....she flew, I rode! PERFECT!

Nashville? Live an hour north of there. Been about 7times in 7years... buncha rich posers pretending to be country, and the roads sucks. Truckers call it crashville for a reason.

Smart man.... anytime I'm on the road I avoid big cities like the plaque. All it equals is busy streets and people looking for handouts
