Took the 80 y/o next door neighbor to buy a new car last week. Picking it up tomorrow. She has a '94 Accord and said she wanted another Honda Accord. She is a "HOOT"...gotta laugh my *** off with her. Some parts of conversation as i was explaining the differnce in models:
Me: This one has a moonroof..
Her: I don't need one, I don't drive at night
Me: This one has fog lights
Her: I don't drive in fog
Me: This has heated mirrors
Her: I don't drive in the winter
Me: this has 10 way electric adjustable seats
Her: I haven't adjusted my seat since I bought my car
Me: this has 6 speakers
Her: Does it have a radio? I need a radio. Does it have a spot to put those music things into
Me: You mean a 8 track player?
Her: Nooo...those flat things, I have a radio in the house I can put them into. I want one in the car. I have cassettes, too
Me: Sit in the car to see if you can see out the back window.
Her (sitting and looking straight ahead): Yeah, I can see
Me: No , I mean try to turn your head and look back. Uh..nevermind, I forgot you're one of those old people that back up by feel. Ya just wait 'til you hit something.
Her: haha..that's the way I pull into the gargae, I wait til I bump the stuff in front of the car.
We decide on the basic model Accord..salesman brings one out ans says " Why don't you take it for a test drive"...She looks at him and says " I'm not driving it, Al , you drive it and tell me how it feels, I'll go for a ride with you"...... Didn't go 1/2 a block and she says " How is it?" ....Actually had fun buying a new car with a 80 y/o woman!!!

Another great day for ridin'. Went with GB to Worlds's End park, near Williamsport. View from the top area reminded me of BlueRidgeParkway...lotsa mountains out there with a 20 mile view.

GF has one, '04 I think. I wouldn't have one, one of the most uncomfortable cars I've driven, most American cars I've driven in the last 20 years handle better, and those metric car transmissions drive me nuts, gotta give it gas even going downhill, like stepping on the brakes when you let up on the gas - American cars just coast unless you manually gear them down. She hasn't put enough miles on it to wear out the tires, still looked good when she got new ones earlier this year - told her not a good idea to drive on 10 year tires, plus the sidewalls were really cracking.
And with that, I'm gonna go bed, nite all.
Morning all, I'm with Jdub, 4 day week then off the next week. Hope everyone had a good weekend.
