Yea, yea, I wear out the dunlops and metzmajiggys just as fast. Tried some crap tires for comparison last time and got 5000 miles out of a $70 tire. Usually get about 8000 out of the $...uh...what I pay for the above mentioned tires.

I decided that anemometer building was for the birds and went for a 3-hour ride instead. 75* and just plain beautiful. Anything else that might need to be done can just wait.

I don't even worry about mileage anymore, don't ever want that dumlop wander on the sporties again. Besides, when I get the tires 'tween $100 and $150 and do all the mounting myself, what's an extra couple or four thousand miles really cost. Old fart like me needs all the better handling I can get, too, wanna keep that rubber twixt me and pavement and ain't got the jumping and sliding reflexes I had 40 years ago anymore.

No chainsaw today, just my Dewalt reciprocating saw (like a Sawzall) cleaning up some small stuff. And raking and carrying wood trash till my back ached. Got mebbe an eighth of it done... Lot of chain saw noise this year, several neighbors are clearing their woods. Trees have reached the point in this neighborhood where they're breaking lines and dumping crap on top of houses, and making lawn mowers sound like wood chippers. We can cut over half of them out, and there'd still be plenty of shade. Wondered how I wus gonna get rid of the big elm tree chunks, and a neighbor asked me today what I was gonna do with em. Said he could use some firewood for his outdoor pit... that problem dint last long.
