Posers' Coffee House, All Bullshit Accepted, Part VI
play time over.....
I'm 67, retired on somewhat - no, make that a lot - less than I'd anticipated, but that isn't going to be unusual for our generation, and I'm content with it; I'm successfully retired, that's the big thing. Pay cash for everything, not enough cash flow for payments; if it's gonna come out of savings, figure just take it out to start with and not pay interest on it. If I had to pay someone to keep my bikes going, all I'd have is the Honda scooter, Harleys would be out of the question. What I can't fix, gets sold. You and I are in a lucky group that's getting harder to join every year - enjoying life without work in our 60's.

I would've had over 55k/year with S.S., but the divorce sure took the wind out of those sails. I know people werking 40 or more a week that make less than me, so I ain't complaining. Another 20 years, who knows if anyone will have retirement income.

Warm and sunny today. Chain saws may be power tools, but after an hour or two, they're still hard werk. Then pitching hay, that's always hard werk. Then down on knees sticking the last of the tomatoes in the ground; that just kills my lower back. To add pain to aches, wus up on the daughter's house trying to figure out where the skylight leak was (damn thing starts leaking when the house is empty and for sale), and burned my hands getting back on the ladder to get down. That sun heated everything exposed to actual skin damaging temperatures. After I got down, then thought of the ventilated gloves I wore riding over. Oh well, only hurts when I touch something now.
Been puttin in since I was 15 or so. Hope I get my share of SS. If not this gig I should get full pay with 25 more years to put in.
But My divorce is just child support an medical coverage..........So I guess I keep whatever is coming. regardless if it's retirement or earnings. When /if the time comes.
