No spouse, no kids. My cat passed away about three years ago. Mostly I get up, check email, log onto the online banking page and count my money.

"Wrench averse" I take my truck to the dealer for oil and service ($10 because I bought it there, and they wash it too!) H-D dealer for parts and service. This probably makes me a "wallet biker."

Listen up! CostCo Executive Membership taught me not to use cash. I use the CostCo American Express card for everything, even the $1.00 drinks at Mickey's. Last year I got a $250 refund from AmEx and another $150 from CostCo Executive Membership.

I pay off the AmEx every month, in full. That way I'm not paying the 19% interest.

Being wrench averse, I paid $500 to get the dash lights replaced in the truck (long, long story, outrageous price for replacement bulbs). Front wheel hub replacement ran me $391.

Finally sprang $2,308.70 for Vance & Hines on the Street Glide, ProTuner, dyno. Money well spent.

Had a Uberti replica Colt Walker black-powder revolver calling my name at Cabela's, $464 tax included.

Then food, gas, coffee, road trip to Canada.

AmEx bill came to $3,637.12 -- due on the 14th. Today is the 10th.

Moved $600 from my home equity line to checking, paid the AmEx in full. Equity line is 5.49%, but they amortize the interest with the principal, seemingly every day.

This equity line gets paid off in full on the 1st of July, next direct deposit check. Probably part of the principal sooner because I don't really need $300 in cash "walking around money" and the VA owes me $80 in travel pay (direct deposit).

Interest on this credit line for 20 days comes to about $2.00, the sort of money I spend most days on French Roasted Coffee.

Ohhhhhhhh yeah, mortgage is 10 yr. fixed at 3.25%. Six years outstanding, but I expect to have it paid off in about 3 yrs. 3.5 acres, 3 bedroom, two bath, pole barn with stables, John Deere (tractor, not lawn mower). Harley is probably less cost and work than horses -- which seems to be what the neighbors spend their money on.

Wallet Biker -- "It's only money, and these days I seem to have it."

First Harley I had was a 1996 Heritage, back about 2006. Nice bike, but I was not prepared for the cost of service, tires, etc. "Like keeping a French ***** in lingerie."

Twice as much $$$ into the Street Glide, but we're on budget, and standing in tall cotton. "I'm not required to make anybody happy except myself."

Thank you for your service!

Head doc says I am good to go for another 6 months.

Came home and did a quick lawn cutting.

That's all from here. Back to you, Herb!

I'm 67, retired on somewhat - no, make that a lot - less than I'd anticipated, but that isn't going to be unusual for our generation, and I'm content with it; I'm successfully retired, that's the big thing. Pay cash for everything, not enough cash flow for payments; if it's gonna come out of savings, figure just take it out to start with and not pay interest on it. If I had to pay someone to keep my bikes going, all I'd have is the Honda scooter, Harleys would be out of the question. What I can't fix, gets sold. You and I are in a lucky group that's getting harder to join every year - enjoying life without work in our 60's.

The boomers are booming, so the pup asked me to bring her into the dungeon. Nice and quiet down here since I put insulation in the walls and ceiling.
