bikers and assholes

We have another problem here, people on bicycles thinking its the tour de france obstructing traffic... Sometimes there is a dozen of them at a time you have to go into the oncoming lane to get by them. I call them "Roadferries".

I've ridden with small, medium and huge groups of bikes and I know it frustrates the h**l out of other motorists when we hang together and especially so when we tie-up the fast (passing) lane.
We've all, at one time or another, been in the position of getting behind a "road hog", or semi's running side-by-side up hills and we all know how frustrating that can be.
A motorcycle is a motor vehicle.
We do not have a right to tie-up traffic, drive between other vehicles, or to drive on LH or RH shoulders, and creating chaos.
I will readily admit that I have asked other motorists to allow me to change lanes if I have to make a turn at a nearby intersection, but I don't just "take it" without asking.
Ten to twelve bikes can safely run together and not interfere with other motorists as long as they use the left lane to pass and then move over to allow faster traffic to pass.
Next time you're on a run, suggest smaller "packs" of bikes, leaving at 5 minute intervals. As long as everyone knows the final destination, what's the point in jamming a bunch of bikes up in heavy traffic ?

Cyclists have just as much right to the road as any motor vehicle. Just like in the pictures, you will have jerks taking up the entire road. We also have to obey the law. Pace line no more than two abreast.
