leather jackets, where did you get yours?

I bought a First Gear Rocket (cafe style) off Craigslist for less than 25% of the original cost. Bought another from HD for $199.00 on sale, regular price was $425.00. Both are nice heavy jackets that usually just hang in the closet most of the summer. Belstaff airstream for warmer days, on coast runs I bring my heated jacket liner

I have a collection of jackets from previous bikes and the only leather jacket I had was a perforated jacket that wasn't really suitable for cold weather. I started my search for a winter weight jacket a few weeks ago and came across one.
I bought a Xpert Performance jacket with Thinsulate lining, light armor in the shoulders, back and elbows and zip out liner at a local shop. They have a consignment rack and this one was in good shape. It is super heavy and I am glad I didn't buy this one on line because there is no way I would have bought a 3X jacket thinking it would fit. I generally wear a XL but this is a good fit. Keep sizing in mind and always buy at least one size bigger.

I have a Langlitz Columbia, which is as heavy as a jacket gets. I still wear a Gerbing heated jacket under it in winter. Leather isn't a warm material, and jacket liners don't do much either if it's really cool.

Same here and I am satisfied. Thick jacket with a removable liner, plus it was the cheapest I could find on the net.

You can try Wilson's leather or motorcycle house. I like going to Wilson's and trying the jacket on before I buy it. Also make sure the zipper go's all the way up the coller for cold weather riding.

Start by looking at the local pawn shops. I bought a good quality heavy jacket at a cheap price. Lasted forever, till I out grew it. Saw a RUB buy one at a a HD shop, and wanted it put in a plastic bag like you would get with your dry cleaning. I reminded this guy that the cow it came from stood out in the rain for years and a little weather would not hurt it. Had a real glazed look in his eyes...
