25 Days - 23 States - 7578 Miles - 4 Hours of Rain
**Edited to show a sampling of pictures in recent posts**
Just returned from a great road trip that started Aug 4th. Met up in Louisville with a long time friend from the 1st grade who rides a Sedona Orange RG.
Our trip took us to Indianapolis - Des Moines - Sturgis - Billings - Beartooth Hwy - Yellowstone - Tetons - Jackson Hole - Salt Lake City - Reno - Lake Tahoe - San Francisco - PCH to Long Beach - Vegas - Hoover Dam - Prescott - Jerome - Sedona - Flagstaff - Grand Canyon - Four Corners - Albuquerque - Roswell - San Antonio - New Orleans - Pensacola - home.
What an experience. No camping; my quota was filled years ago. Here are some tidbits of info:
*Rode 7578 miles and spent $676.09 in gas.
*In 27 days we encountered 4 hours of actual raindrops and only 2.5 of the 4 hours was it raining hard enough for us to slow our speeds down 5-10 mph or so. Thank you Lord.
*Ironically the worst hotel we stayed in was the most expensive and the least expensive hotel was the nicest. Go figure.
*Don't buy Powerball tickets when on the road. Have a Powerball winner in my pocket purchased in Idaho and no other state we traveled in will redeem it. Guess I should have read the small print.
*Highest altitude riding was 10,947 feet
*Highest temperature encountered 104 - lowest 55
*Longest riding travel day 12 hours - shortest riding travel day 5 hours
*Most miles in a travel day 623 (12 hours) - least miles in a travel day 208 (11 hours)
*Hardest riding day was also my most favorite - Billings to Beartooth Highway, Yellowstone, Tetons and Jackson Hole
*Understand now why H-D called it Sedona Orange
Not bad for a couple of 66 year olds.
Thank everyone for the advice and recommendations given to me prior to the trip.

Boy do we have pictures, probably 1500 or so and about a third of them were taken from moving motorcycles. Still loading to Photobucket but here's a sampling.
My friend Joe getting it done
Joe up ahead as we roll into Malibu or Santa Monica
Neat little town of Chamberlain, SD on the Missouri River
Angie at Crazy Horse Momument when we were there - no booing or hissing
Crazy Horse
Deadwood
Main Street Sturgis
Me doing PR at Sturgis
Somewhere in Montana on way to Little Big Horn
Devil's Tower from 10 miles or so
Worst kind of traffic backup in Wyoming - head on motorcycle accident
Beartooth Hwy
Beartooth view
Yellowstone
Me at The Tetons
