Default What does "feels like a metric" mean?

I've seen in several threads where folks have stated that some particular non-HD bike "feels like a metric".

Having ridden bikes from everywhere, including HD, I realized that I have no idea what this means.

Any ideas?

Slang on the forum for Honda, Yamaha, or any other bike that uses metric tools.

Ride a VTX or Vulcan and then hop on a Road King or other comparable Harley and if you can't tell you have a dead ***.

I understand was a metric is...I don't understand what is meant by "feels" like a metric.

What specific qualities feel metric and what feels "non-metric"?

I have ridden a Kawasaki that felt more like a Dyna than an actual Dyna...

I have ridden them all. Yes, they feel different in a lot of ways, the same in others. No more different than driving a Chevy vs Ford vs Dodge vs Toyota.

My wife assures me that my *** is not dead.

What are the specifics?

Old Dynas don't ride like new Dynas. The Kawasaki rode like an old one but was a lot faster.
