I started reading this thread then realized it was 47 pages. I'm not gonna go through all of that. But one thing that helped me when I first started was those ride like a pro videos. Don't know if it's been posted yet but google it. It's taught by a former chp motor officer. Lots of good low speed techniques.

What makes an experienced rider. I forgot as I'm 73 and started riding in 1956. Have never went down and ride 30K + a year since retiring.
Now if I just had some memory left could I ever tell you some good stuff here. But, if you ever come across me on a ride, follow me and learn.

Many people who have ridden for years have many bad habits, only some of them realize what they are and or have the skill to compensate for them. Leaving a finger or two on the levers is a no no by the riding training guys but most people do it. If you have control of your bike the weight of it means little, roll up to a stop light at a normal pace in neutral stop it with one finger (left hand not on the bars) smoothly on a bagger you cant fake your way through it. Don't put your feet down till its stopped, that is the best way to tell a newbie.
