Signs of an advanced rider

The riders I stay away from are the ones who look back over thier shoulder when making lane changes. That makes me very nervous just watching this very dangerous rider. Most riders I have seen doing this are tailgating and pacing faster than the flow of traffic which means frequent looks over left shoulder then the right shoulder and some riders have one hand on the face shield so it does not flip up while doing this.

Agreed! WTF? You ALWAYS physically look before changing lanes, while that mirror may continually remind you of how ugly you are, it doesn't quite keep up with traffic real well!

All it takes is not looking once and you wading out into the passing lane and a cage runs you flat! If you survive, you'll learn, if you don't... oh well.

I have ridden a Harley for a living for 15 years, and much of that calls for pushing the envelope and riding at 9/10th's and beyond. But on my personal FLTRU I like to kick back and ride in a relaxed style, staying pretty close to the speed limit, especially when I'm two up with the GF.
A lot of good posts on this thread. The main attribute of an "advanced rider" is the ability to get there safely, both for themselves and those around them.

"Signs of an advanced rider?"
Get-back whip, out of state plates, a chrome vanity helmet, a sleeveless leather vest, and skull apparel. Skull apparel everywhere.
Did I miss anything?
