I understand your frustration and desire to write this. However, it's best to ignore the possers and continue to ride.

Hmmmmmm......

interesting topic. Can't say I've ever had to ponder this before. You've caught me off guard. Give me a moment to reflect.

Man it's mind blowing how neurotic many Harley riders are these days. sheeesh! who is a 'real' man, a 'real' biker . . . people concerned about what other people wear, how and if they wash their bike . . how they are perceived by others . . . . on and on and on. Maybe it's time to get a Honda if owning a Harley is making you this damn neurotic and insecure.

Do golf forums have threads about who is and who isn't a real golfer? How bout tennis? Bowling? Cycling/mountain biking? Skiing? Snowboarding? Fishing/hunting? People who are generally happy with themselves and their lives don't typically try to be anything. They just are who they are 24/7/365. They have interests and hobbies and enjoy them at their own pace and leisure and often never give a second thought to how others involved in their hobby view them. They probably dress appropriately for the activity at hand, and choose function over form most of the time.

When I'm dead and gone, hopefully I'm remembered as the guy who enjoyed life and did things he loved, not the guy who spent his life searching for an identity.
