Are you a rider or a biker?

After 50 years of riding I'll take my chances, lol.
And oh yeah I'm giving up beer, diet coke, red meat, fatty foods, and start wearing a helmet, NOT !

I Totally agree,, I am only 64 and ride with my Son and 3 of his friends. ALL of them under 40 and in GOOD shape
And After riding 10 hrs a day for a week, they all have more Aches and Pains and take more Pills than I do.
Also,,,,I am the only one of the four of us who's had a broken back (shattering L-3) and also destroyed one of my Knees.
It surprises me that All three of the other Kids I ride with have more pain and problem than I do..
Hummmm,,, I ride a Heritage and they all have Touring bikes. Maybe the Heritage is OK as a Road Bike after-ALL..

I rode my first motorcycle when I was 12, it was a 1938 Harley. I have been riding almost daily since and I am 77. Not as good of a rider as when I was in my 20's, but I know it and ride accordingly.

Not entirely true. I live down the road from you on the other side of Morse. Down in Indy, the Outlaws are very present. Back in the day, I used to play in a band. On my now wife and I's first date, I told my lead singer I would help him with an acoustic gig. Turns out...it was at the Outlaws clubhouse. Nice guys...all of them. Left drunker than a skunk as I didn't want to say "no" to any shot given to me by a club member! It's amazing that girl married me! LOL! I was given a few ground rules to follow. But really...they were just common sense, treat a human being correctly type of rules. I also know the Black Pistons are around. Or at least were. I haven't seen any patches around in a while, but they're out there!

My great grandfather rode into his mid 80s, If someone has been riding their whole life, if they can still physically handle the bike I don't think they are going to suddenly be a statistic. It is definitely the 50 year old dudes who never sat on a bike before who all of the sudden feel the need to be a bad *** that buy brand new bikes off the show room and drop them and crash them. I'm just glad I started young and don't plan to stop riding until I physically can't anymore.

Blunt force trauma is not your friend the older you get, pre-existing medical problems add to the equation... you hit the pavement when you are 20 yrs old vs hitting the pavement when you are 60 yrs old the outcome maybe be very different.

While in other news.....increased ridership is suspected to be the underlying cause of an increase in motorcycle accidents.
