Are you a rider or a biker?

I feel as if I don't have a classification, I just ride my damn bike because I enjoy to. I'm not apart of a "biker club" nor do I want to be, just a bunch of people I'd feel obligated to be around. I ride with the 2 same people and that's it.

[QUOTE=Major Thom;11481947]If a biker, when did you go from rider status? Sounds like a smartass question, but heard someone (who looks like a biker and hangs out with bikers) say they are a rider, not a biker and thought it was an interesting distinction.[/QUOT
Up until I started visiting the forums never thought about the title. The term biker conjurs up all the things Hollywood threw at us back in the 50's and 60's.So many more that rode back them did not live like that.We that ride are certainly bikers in a different interpretation but prefer a more civilized lifestyle.

I'm definitely a rider. I've put at least 150,000 miles on motorcycles and raced them for about a dozen years. There have been periods of time in my life that a motorcycle was my only form of transportation.
Biker? Depends upon what that term means. If it means that I dress up like I'm trying out for a part in the "Pirates of Penzance" or trying to achieve the 'fresh out of prison' look, I'm not a biker. If it means that motorcycles are an integral part of my life I guess I am.
