Default What's the fingerless glove thing about?

I've seen it mentioned, but not sure. I've got full fingered gloves I wear when I ride. Not every single time I'm on the bike, but probably 98% of the time.
When I gear up, I look like I belong on a sportbike because that's what I had previously, and I don't want to spend the money to get harley outfitted.
I did spring for a new half helmet though instead of my other full face.
But yeah, what's the glove thing about?

I wear gloves because it's more comfortable on my hands when I ride. I wear fingerless gloves when it's warm. Works for me.

For me it's about being able to find the switches easily. Turn signals etc...

It's so you don't gunk-up your leather when spreading KY everywhere...

Seriously...simply personal preference, touch/feel & temp...

Glove thing is better grip on the controls, and safety , the safety part comes from the various motorcycle course's that are out there that require gloves when taking the course and after the course the choice is up to you.

As a compromise, you could just cut off the tip of the index finger on the full- fingered glove.

dont need the full fingers when its warm .
however if you fall of your scooter you will put your hands out to break your fall.
nice to have palms left after that ..
