Default Are you a local @ your Local Harley Store

I don't frequent my local dealer so I am not a "Local"

When I do stop in, I see a lot of the same guys/gals loitering around, first time I thought it was coincidence but after the next visit I started to get curious. Had to work at the store for two days once with a buddy who was replacing the HVAC unit on the roof, confirmed! the same people are hanging out at the store.

I don't get it, once you've looked at the inventory, purchased your bike, picked the brain of every employee, what more could keep you there?

I don't even feel all that welcome to be perfectly honest.

I was going there every weekend for the first 2 months after I got my bike, just to look at stuff. I mainly wanted a place to go and since it's 70 miles away, it served the purpose. Now I might go there once a month.

Default I Guess Not

Just went last weekend and all new faces. All that matters is that I'm still in their computer for my discount!

Ah! the discount...

Wanted to purchase my bike locally but they didn't have it, gave them six months to get it, another dealer called to let me know they had it so I bought it, went to my local to purchase the Tour Pac and hardware, original quote $2,600, after they realized I purchase the bike elsware, $3,200. Explained to the guy that I would have bought the bike locally if they had it or could get it, $3,200 stands. Called the dealer I bought the bike from, $2,300. Guess where I order my stuff from.

I received the manufacturer survey last week, one of the questions was did you buy from you local dealer? Heh!

No. I try to only go if I need something, like o-rings or gaskets.

I'm one if those people that occasionally goes too my local dealer when I can't wait for a needed part which is rare.My local dealer barbecues burgers every weekend and has alot of closeout tees but doesn't give you a break on parts or accessories. It's sad that I have to go online to purchase parts from dealers accross country.

Only if I can't find a part elsewhere!
