im i nthe who cares look, i ALWAYS have stuff in my bags, and honestly wouldnt own a biek without them. i have a set of throw overs on right now but here shortly they are gettign swapped for a set of full dresser hardbags.
as for keepign them from scratchign the paint get some 3m clear vinyl film to stick on your fender then put them on and then yoru seat goes over top it all. safe secure and minimal scratching

Saddlebags in general do look dorky to me--even on my Heritage and old RK. When I take them off the Heritage, I sure do miss them. They generally are not off for long. I love the convienence way more than I dislike the look.

He-he....Nova Scotia is a beautiful place and I honestly didn't know they were so far behind on their grammar and spelling.
I'm with ya there Coyote - I always have stuff in my bags too and wouldn't be without 'em.

Yes, most saddlebags look dorky on most Dynas and Softies. I admit, my bags do too. But they are soooooo practical that I find I almost never take them off, despite the fact that they come off in seconds (just like a windshield). I put a luggage rack on my Fatty last fall, so may end up getting a little bag that fits on that, so I can remove my bags more frequently.
As for your Bob, I had a Bad&G Dyna solo bag on mine. While smaller than a full saddle bag, it worked pretty decent most of the time. I would also strap a jacket to my handle bars as needed.
Also, you might get better ideas and responses in the Dyna section of this Forum.

I dont generally like the looks of them either, but i dont think mine look too bad, and just the convienance of being able to carry some stuff makes it worth it too me. Back packs or sissy bar bags aint so hot oeither. I picked these up off craigs list for 150$ , real happy with them for that price.

If you don't like saddlebags, but want a little storage, you could go with a solo / swingarm bag since they're typically smaller than saddlebags. We just released a new kit that we make that lets you hard mount either a Dyna style (typically the slanted style bag that is angled to clear the shock) or a Softail style bag (typically a triangular shaped bag that follows the lines of the swingarm) on your Dyna with the same kit. All you do is change the position of the mounting plates. It mounts down on your swingarm so it leaves your rear fender completely untouched for a really clean look. Plus hard mounting your bag makes sure you don't damage the powdercoat on your swingarm and it doesn't sag down when you put stuff in it.
Here's the link to the kit if you're interested: http://www.deadcreekcycles.com/Swing...ls_p_1100.html

+1 on the T-Sport bags, mine came stock with them but the LeatherPro ones look good too, not too big but expand for longer trips and come off fast but I always have them on, tools, bike lock, rain gear and other stuff I may need!
