Default Does your scooter have a motor or an engine?

You can tell I am bored here with winter weather. I have always thought of an engine as being gasoline and a motor being electric. I seem to recall Richard Petty referring to his race car as having a *motor*. Comments?

edit: I really don't really give a flip what Wikipedia has to say.

I was always taught the same thing: Motors are electric.

Technically you are all correct... But "motor" has been an accepted slang forever.

This could possibly turn into a fun thread. Three posts and no one has chastised me for calling a motorcycle a *scooter*. Again, a post for a bored winter evening. Life is good!

To all but the purists, the two terms have become mutually exchangeable... all I know is that mine has 103ci.

Yeah. A motor is electric and an engine is internal combustion. Thats what I have always heard. So. Technically speaking we own Harley Davidson Enginecyles.
