Default Keeping Life in Balance

About 12 years ago I started riding. Back then there were numerous threads such as "turned a few heads today" (on my badass scoot, with my Bub Stubbies, etc) which I realized recently is the polar opposite of all this damn snubbing.

Did we "used to turn heads" and now are getting snubbed? Or are we talking about 2 distinctly different groups, the Head Turners and Those Who Get Snubbed?

Did anyone "turn a few heads" today? Are we still the young lions? Where have all the good times gone??

Doesn't it depend on which way they turn their head?

I can honestly say that I have never for a moment ridden or owned any bike to have others notice me. Any work or mods to a bike have never been to impress anyone, but were solely for my enjoyment. Probably also the reason that if anyone has snubbed me in the last 40+ years since I started riding - I didn't notice. I guess if you're not looking for their reaction and you don't care what their reaction is, then you just don't even notice it.

As much as I love my motorcycle and other toys and enjoy the related activities they bring, I have come to realize the toys are just that, toys. As the years have gone by I've lost good friends and family that I miss more than any off the toys I've had or have. I know this sounds corny but you have to keep things in perspective.

Being snubbed for not conforming to someone elses vision of how things should be is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. This doesn't mean you have to be a non conforming or self centered individual, enjoy what you have to the fullest! Just keep things in perspective and if you're snubbed for you for having a red bike instead of a black one then that's thier problem, not yours.

Now, that being said, I'm snubbing everybody that has a bike with one of those semi gloss paint jobs and no chrome!!!!

So let me see if I get this straight.....if I turn my head to watch someone turn their head and neither of us acknowledges the turning than we are doing a double snub. Better yet, who cares? I am not in to the mantra of he who dies with the most toys wins. I just want to enjoy life and hopefully share the joy with those around me.

some times a person in their yard will wave as I go by. I throw the hand up and keep going, anything else I don't see. Does that mean I'm snubbing those that don't wave or I don't see wave that did wave. I wave to most all kids in the yard that stop and watch me go by. I won't snub a kid, no.

I hope we get the real intention of this thread, and that is, that this is all silly bs.

Now back to the yin yang between "Everybody WORSHIPS me" vs "Nobody likes me"

Snub on!

Or,

Brag on!

Yo yo brothers!

People deep in the country here will wave at you no matter what.

people in the same type of truck I drive will wave at me, I don't get it

lived in an apartment in NEW YORK CITY, never said by your leave to the people in the apartment on the same floor for the years I lived there
