No apology needed. Words are words are words. There just some that I try not to use myself. It's not for me to dictate word usage, though, and I do not care for the politically correctness of the modern era.
It's kinda like what I used to tell my students. There are times and places for a wide variation in language and its usage. What you say, and how you say it, when with your friends is one thing, what you say in the presence of others is different. The King's English, or a close approximation thereof, should always be available.
Opening line to class every year: "We're gonna squirrel up the holler. what did I just say, and what does it mean?"
Anyway......!

I have to act sophisticated on occasion. Get cleaned up and the whole deal, when going to some of my wife's work functions. and forget that I used to be a card carrying union member. Now, I am a member of House Husbands Local #203. I am the sole member.
