It's a lot softer, easier to work, and I think it may weigh less. Used a lot in aircraft where it doesn't bear heavy loads; it's fairly easy to bend for odd shaped brackets. 6061 is a far better choice for motorcycle use I think, even if only for the vibration. 6061 tends to crack if you bend it with the grain, though.

Well, that beats the hell outa crawling under for the install. Used to do that with my lawn tractor to change the blades.
Must be very rocky up there where ya'll ride. Looks like a Can Am. I hear they are bad *** bikes. Me and all the kids have Hondas. Rincons down to recons. Just sold my sons 300ex and lost my *** on it. He had 4 Fourwheelers. I'm going to keep his Recon and his Rancher just to have for someone else to ride. Might keep the 400ex too, not sure.
