What scares me is knowing how most planes are taken care of and having flown with several of their pilots up front so I could see what they really did up there. I've felt severe stall buffet (plane starts shaking) in a DC8, an unanticipated ground contact in a DC9 (thought he'd see the runway first, he dint), couple of engines quiting (single engine aircraft, of course; that prop stopping in front of you makes you feel funny), a 4 engine airliner ending up backwards off the runway, and a helicopter in a buncha trees. Nobody will ever convince me they're all that safe; I been on their darkside too many times.

Usually the pilot & co-pilot worry me a lot more than what's outside. They kill ya faster and more often than storms do. Worst commercial pilot screwup I experienced was over Atlanta; guy was playing fighter pilot, doing sharp quick turns in a 717 (they actually are pretty high performance little airliners). He finally did one too steep at too slow a speed, and we rolled and dropped nose down a ways. Some of the passengers were starting to look concerned; after that several looked downright scared. Had my daughter with me, and she knew something wrong happened. After that one, he took it easy the rest of the way. Bet some folks on the ground wanted to talk to him - you can't hide that kind of oops, it's on radar and the recorder.

Fergot to say, I love flying in small prop planes. Airliners I just hate.

I woke this morning to find a cat in Roscoe's dog house!! So I went ahead and broke out the AR10 (airsoft 10), to combat the issue at hand.

It seams the crupit at hand had pulled a fast one on me and Roscoe, and hi-tailed it out of the FOB.
