Default Looking for a decent pair of chaps for me

I need a pair of chaps now that the colder wether is just about upon us, or upon me! I stopped at JR'sDiscount where they sell Interstate for a real good price, but could not get my size. Does anyone have any advise as these will be my first pair of chaps. I am 61 and have been riding for many years but have never bothered to get a pair of chaps, but feel it is finally time to help extend my riding season a little. I would love to have the Harley brand, but it is a bit steep for me. I know the saying that you get what you pay for, but I also know that is not always the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

You should check out foxcreekleather.com. I picked up a set last week on clearance for under $100, thick guaranteed for life leather. Great fit as well!

I was just looking on their site. Can you recommend any good chaps to look at or what to look for in a good pair?

Years ago I bought a set of Chaps but just didn't like them, seemed too restrictive to me. Try taking a look at Carhartt overpants.

Careful picking out sizes on the web. Everything I read suggested I use a 3X. Got a place that stocks them locally and tried on a 3X. Couldn't get the zippers to reach each other. Had to go to 5X.

If you get them online make sure they have a good return policy.

Don't forget to check your local Craig's List. Earlier this week I picked up a pair of like new (worn twice) HD chaps for $55

I've never owned chaps, as I've always ridden bikes like BMW K1200LT's and Honda GL1800. Now with a Road King, I was looking at the HD dealer, but prices were crazy, in my opinion. I came across a great selection at www.jafrum.com and my buddy and I ordered some, as well as for our wives. Great prices (like $50-75)and quality comparable to HD dealers $200. Lots of reviews from Harley riders too.
Same day shipping too.
We are delighted with the 4 pairs ordered.

And, Elderberry, you have the finest looking bike I've ever seen!
