RL,

I read an article saying that shows producers did copy the style from the above photos, they actually got permission to do so from them.

Considering Sonny Barger plays on the show from time to time, nevermind.

any of you that think SOA TV show invented this style are showing your ignorance.
HAMC has been at front of "Frisco" style since waaaaay back.
1/4 fairings have been used on FXR "club bikes" for 20+ years. Infact, I had one on my FXRS back in '92-'94.

I dont think anyone is saying SOA invented the style. The producers had to get the idea from somewhere. Left to there own devices who knows what they would've come up with. Not sure I would want to know, haha.

The skate shoes are just part of Cali skate boarding culture.
The first SS symbols and Maltese crosses were wore by surfers before bikers ever adapted the trend. The fact is most trends start in Cali and are broadcasted for mainstream Americans to see across the nation. For some folks TV is the only thing they have as a reference to whats happening outside their little corner of the world.

The series SOA shows how some groups can be associated with a certain style of bike. On the show we have Mayans on cholos, Grim Bastards on blinged out dressers.
Sure they're stereo types of groups but its pretty accurate portrayal of the style and dress of different groups.
Here in the Midwest the bike of choice for outlaw MCs are Street Glides and full sized Dressers.

The Born Free show style bike (60s frisco and east bay style choppers and bobbers) thing is big now. Once again its younger guys building their own and setting a particular style of bike and dress. Maybe its time to start a born free bike tread!

I am not a fan of the show but I watch bits and peices of it now and again, just like I look at all the bikes in movies etc.

I also look at the guns and dogs (and woman) and any other thing that intrests me in life, I think people need to get a life if all they are interested in is running down a TV show I mean come on really?

styles come and go and we all base our style on one thing or another the only original people where the cave men and they still copied something Animal etc.

Get over it we are all wanna bes in one form or another. me I am happy riding my bike and i dont really give a **** what you think about me when I am doing it, I am the riding the bike you just watching me go by.

You said that the funniest thing about SOA is that they wear tennis shoes because it's inaccurate. I replied with pictures of actual Outlaw MC's wearing tennis shoes to disprove your argument. The show is very accurate to the style of Northern CA MC's. It's very closely related to the story of HA's in the area. There's lots of fluff and action **** for TV but if you check the history books, lots of similar events happened. All the RICO law ****, CIA's, Feds, snitches, undercover's, drug wars, turf wars. Again, it's laced with some extra sex and explosions for your entertainment.

I didn't say the above pictured people are heroes, role models or have tons of money to contribute to society. Why are you talking about lawyers and business people? Am I not able to ride my bike with tennis shoes because I'm not a doctor or lawyer? This thread wasn't titled "what do you think of MC's?" or "who is able to ride a certain style of bik?e" or even "who do you deem fit for society?"

Again, the simple aim of this thread was for the OP to learn what an "Outlaw style Dyna" is
Very well put,
I'll ride what I want, wearing what I want and if i want to wear white tennis shoes I'll wear white tennis shoes and i don't give a F**k who dislikes it, this roadlord sure knows how to make friends...

No doubt the clothing styles are regional and local MCs have a major influence on bike styles.
I lived in Cleveland, OH back in late '70s and 80s. At the time HAMC were on east side of town and rode predominately stock looking Superglides and LowRiders and so did most of their friends and admirers.
On the west side of town and in other rural areas, there were Outlaws MC support clubs and individuals. Most of them rode baggers.
