I don't really understand why you had to even start this thread if you don't care as you stated in some of your responses. As for your question above, the answer is so simple that you answered it yourself. Non-riders are people without bikes and you are a person with a bike so to them you are a "biker". Do you think that they are totally over analyzing the term the way you are? They are probably thinking of it no more than they do when they see a guy on a boat and call him a "boater" or a kid on a skate and call him a "skater". It's just a term of simplicity. Get over it.
