i have some custom built chaps, thick leather not just wind protection like most of the bike chaps i see for sale at rallies and at the majority of leather shops.

I like them alot, and they are comfortable. My legs have never been hot on the bike, if i want i just take em off when i get where i am going, or unzip the legs 3/4 of the way.

remember what ever way you go, just like your jacket is tight around the wrists, you want these light around the ankle so if you do slide they wont slip up your leg and bunch up.

When it's cold either the ride in or ride home it's leather pants and jacket and full finger gloves. I neither trying to impress anyone or care what people think.

I like the convenience of them is nice. Start out with them on in a chilly morning and it gets warm and they are easy to take off and roll up into a saddlebag.
Plus, easy enough to throw on for rain since I don't have rain gear.
And, who says you can't walk around in chaps? If they are on for the ride they just stay on wherever I go.

Even when it's in the 40's I've never felt a need to wear leather pants or chaps.
I do have rain gear when it rains. Maybe I'm in the minority here?
I agree. A pair of Levis with some long underwear works good enough for me when it's in the high 30's and 40's.

very easy to get on/off with zippers down both sides and snaps on the bottoms.
Quality is great and service is the best.

36 this morning, sunny and 66 this afternoon. I may have to consider some leather pants if this keeps up.

Got some leather pants that act like chaps in that you can crawl in and out quickly with zippers on legs and such.

cold weather bad rain, I have an Aerostich suit...

This is along the lines of what exhaust to put on your bike. It's a personal preference. If I wear something, it's chaps. I can take them off easily and store in the saddle bags.....to avoid the "Village People" look.
