Per thousand hours, riding horses is more dangerous than riding motorcycles by fatality and serious injury. The aim of life is not to arrive in heaven in a well preserved body: the aim is to slide in sideways, totally wrecked, drink in one hand, smoke in the other, yelling "yee hah, what a ride!
Tell your buddy to get a grip: I've lost three friends to heart attacks in the last 2 years who didn't smoke or drink, and who were as fit as a butcher's dog - right up until they dropped dead. You can't dodge the bullet, so just live until you don't.

That is the point of my reply. Who cares really what you do in life except maybe some friends and family. Sure they worry to a degree but it's "Your Life". I have had quite a few healthy friends die not caused by any one single reason other than it was thier time to go. Enjoy life and what you do in it.

My post was simple sarcasm from an ex smoker, guess I forgot the smiley face at the end.

There was on my bike. I pulled it off though and pretended like It was never there. Said something about serious injury or death blah blah blah...

If you want a good laugh look at your owner's manual and the warnings in that thing. I was surprised not to see " Warning riding this equipment can cause death or serious injury to the rider". They have a warning about everything in it. Maybe if they have a picture of a motorcycle wreck on the bill of sale people would think twice about buying one.

Damn, can't believe nobody did a little research:

CDC says 443,000 Americans die from smoking related illness each year.

From what I could find, 3600 motorcylists were killed in crashes in 2010, a little over 4000 in 2009. One year in the last ten over 5000 bikers died in wrecks. The other years were in the 4000 range.

So tell your 'friend' that smoking is about 10 times more dangerous than riding your Harley!!
