Those places are everywhere, even in the great state of Arizona. Been to AZ many times and seen (and felt) it for myself. You can too if you allow yourself. Just how 'biker' you look to be has a lot to do with it.
Just walk into any up-scale establishment all leathered out and witness how many stares you get. Dude, I guarantee you'll have everyone's undivided attention - positive, neutral, or negative. Especially if there's more than one of you.
Yeah, a few of those stares will be positive, many will be neutral, but there will be more than several that are negative and you'll definitely feel that heat.
Sure, it isn't as prevalent as it was in the 60's and 70's but it's most definitely still there (and nearly everywhere I've ever gone).

1%er - someone with an affiliation to a motorcycle gang involved in criminal activity like the Hells Angels, Satans Choice, Banditos
biker - a fashion statement or look (leather vest, chaps, finger-less gloves, bandannas, etc.)
motorcycle enthusiast - someone interested in motorcycling and motorcycles

Well, since no one knows where your "here" is, one can only imagine, but around "HERE" biker is a word used to describe a biker. Nothing more. Nothing less. No negative connotations or anything. So, fat tony, maybe the rest of the world isnt as uptight with a collective stick up their *** as you and your friends, wherever the hell "here" is for you.
Maybe a ride is in order
