Default who buys choppers?

Now that the chopper fad is over, who still buys these bikes? OCC they are still building bikes, but who's buying them? And I'm not talking about theme bikes. There are alot of nice used ones for sale cheap too. Just a thought as I watch an episode.

I always wounder what kind of person too. I'd think it would be more of a collector then to be ridden. I jumped on there website and current inventory is 1 2010 raked out chopper. So if inventory looks like that not many (how ever I know how shops let this stuff get behind). Much rather have something made by Indian Larry (R.I.P.)

Choppers will never be "over," just the goofy looking ones with the fat-*** tires and unridable positions...

A lot of those bikes on the show I could never see myself riding but that old school bike they just finished was the nicest they have built in years and it actually showed a lot of the one-off fabrication being done. I wish the show would get back to that and away from the drama and push button/watch part be made in a machine stuff they've been doing.

My BIL bought one - front end was wrecked and he got it on salvage. Repairs, new paint, ended up with a nice ride. Has about $7500 in it. Drags around town with it - he has an Ultra and a SG for the road.

My 73 yr old buddy bought a used American Ironhorse Legend with a 240mm rear tire.
He also rides a 2008 FXDWG and is building a Softail Sportster.

He enjoys them and I doubt he even considers some self appointed expert's opinion about them.

i would say people who buy choppers either don't know how to build one or they want one but don't have the time to build one.
