Are you referring to me? I just posed a ? out of curiosity. I made no comment about choppers other than the fad seemed to be over. Read and try to understand before you comment.

Nobody I know would think of buying one of those, we build for ourselves.

Ok, most of you are missing the point of my ? It really has nothing to do with choppers in general, more to the point. I was reffering to the fad of all those 30k custom choppers. Are there folks still buying them? Has nothing to do with building your own. It was just a ? about all the bike builders that were out there and are they still selling them. Was watching occ, and wondering if they are doing anything more than what we see on tv. How do they keep the doors open?

No. I was referring to bjewell's opinion.
You comments didn't even catch my eye or interest. Did you say something?

Ok, then no. Look around, most of those cookie cutter companies are gone. They came to be when you had to wait inline to get a Harley. No need for them now. People are buying used ones but I see them going for around $10-15K tops.

want to put a larger motor in my FXR. I thought of buying a low mileage chopper keep the motor and part out the rest. That would be the only reason I would buy a chopper? looking at the prices of a motor from J&P it almost makes sense. Am I dreaming?

Look at used or basket motors. I picked up a used S&S 113" for $2500 last year. Keep your eyes peeled deals are out there.

I sold my 1976 ironhead hardtail to buy my geezerglide. I really miss it and if I ever had some extra money I might seriously look into another chopper.

I'm in the market for a new bike & flipping through the want ads out there I see all kinds of unfinished "PROJECTS" out there for one reason or an other--must not be so easy, or maybe the reality of the almighty $$$ settles in.
